Oakland PD Responds to 3 Shootings in Less Than 3 Hours Sunday Night
OAKLAND, Calif. - Three separate shootings occurred in the span of three hours Sunday evening across Oakland, police said. Four victims were wounded in the shootings and are being treated at local hospitals in conditions ranging from stable to critical.
The first shooting took place in East Oakland near the Arroyo Viejo Recreational Center at about 8:50 p.m., Oakland police said. Authorities are seeking multiple suspects in the shooting, which left one adult male and one juvenile male suffering from gunshot wounds. Both men were in stable condition Monday morning, police said.
Police do not have information indicating a motive for the violence, but they did find multiple bullet casings from several different weapons at the scene in the park.
The second shooting took place at about 10 p.m. and stemmed from an attempted robbery in the 600 block of 59th Street not far from the Berkeley border. One victim was transported to a local hospital with multiple gunshot wounds, but was in stable condition, police said. Police are seeking one suspect in that incident.
The third Sunday shooting took place at 11:22 p.m. in the 1100 block of 31st Street near Market Street and San Pablo Avenue, police said. An unknown number of suspects are being sought for the shooting of one adult man. The victim was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, police said.
The motives for all three shootings are under investigation, police said.
