A woman and a 14-year-old boy were killed in a wrong-way crash in San Jose Monday, the California Highway Patrol said. 

According to the CHP, they first received calls about a wrong-way driver on Highway 85 around 3:40 p.m. They were told the driver of a white Toyota Tacoma was driving in the wrong direction on northbound Highway 85, near Saratoga Avenue.

The crash happened minutes later at 3:50 p.m. on northbound Highway 85, south of Highway 87.

CHP said the truck was speeding when it crashed into a Tesla.  A woman and a 14-year-old boy in the Tesla died.

The CHP identified the driver of the pick-up truck as 39-year-old Duncan McQuarrie. He was taken to the hospital with major injuries.

It's not yet known if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash, the CHP said.
