North Korea Threatens 'Merciless Response' To James Franco, Seth Rogen Movie
(CBS SF) -- A new movie featuring Seth Rogen and James Franco has flared tempers in North Korea, prompting threats of retaliation.
In the film, Franco and Rogen portray talk show hosts recruited by the CIA to kill North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un.
While the film is a comedy, the North Korean government isn't laughing, calling the film an act of war.
The government has threatened a 'resolute and merciless response' unless the film's release is stopped.
"Most political people would simply take it in stride, laugh it off, and sort of brush it aside. But, in his case, he's more sensitive," foreign policy expert Thomas Henriksen said.
Rogen joked about the threat on Twitter.
