Arrest Made In NorCal Amber Alert For Kidnapped Sisters
COVELO, Mendocino County (CBS 5) - A man who police said kidnapped his girlfriend's young daughters and was sought in a statewide Amber Alert has been captured in Mendocino County, according to police.
30-year-old Leonard Dale Tuttle Jr. was arrested near the town of Covelo, hours after an alert was issued after the alleged kidnapping in the Glenn County town of Willows, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The children, 2-year-old Randi Martinez 5-year-old Vanessa Martinez were in protective custody and unharmed, according to the Willows Police Department.
Willow Police said the Amber Alert resulted in a driver spotting the Tuttle's white Mitsubishi Lancer while northbound on U.S. Highway 101. The driver notified CHP who were able to contact Mr. Tuttle. He surrendered without resistance, according to Willows Police.
Tuttle was taken to the Mendocino County Jail pending transportation back to Glenn County.
