Nina And Ian: No '50 Shades Of Grey'

LOS ANGELES (THE CW) - "The Vampire Diaries" stars Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder will not be "Fifty Shades of Grey" co-stars.

The low profile real-life couple have been touted to maybe star together in the upcoming adaptation of the popular book series "Fifty Shades of Grey." However, when Nina spoke with MTV, she said that she would not want to be in the movie with Ian, but that rather either one of them should do the movie with a different co-star.

Nina Dobrev teases 'Vampire Diaries' season 4

"I don't know if that's a good idea," Nina said, "I think it would be better [if] either he should get it or I should get it."

Nina added that it's better if two actors that already star in The Vampire Diaries together should do movies separately. "If it's two of the same people, the fans will always see you as ... they'll see me as Elena and they'll see [Ian] as Damon if we do a film together."

However, it also seems as if Nina would be just fine not doing the film at all. When asked about the book, Nina said, "All I've heard is that it's very scandalous, to say the least," and added that she has not read it yet.

She is actually rooting for Ian to get the part more than she is hoping for herself to get it.

'Vampire Diaries' season 3 finale ends with death and a major cliffhanger

"I know that apparently he's really great for the role," Nina said, "so, I hope that he gets it."
