Newsom Pays A Visit To Homeless San Francisco Veterans
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) – A legacy of current San Francisco Mayor and Lieutenant Governor-elect Gavin Newsom is his Project Homeless Connect, where he paid one of his final mayoral visits to the project Wednesday in honor of Veteran's Day.

The project puts service providers all in one spot so that it's easy for people who need help to find it. On Wednesday the Project Homeless Connect volunteers took over the veterans' center to help those who served in the military.
"We have more services than any city in America, but when you get stuck in the silo, or are on just one track, you are not familiar with all of those other services that avail themselves, and what Connect does is bring everything under one roof," said Newsom.
J. C. Horton, a vet who works for the Project said that 10 to 12 percent of the people in need are veterans.
"This is an opportunity to provide services in a particular place, and offer multiple services, as opposed to just offering housing," said Horton.
Newsom may have one more Homeless Connect day left before he goes to Sacramento.
