Hotel Evacuated In Newark After Guest Commits Suicide
NEWARK (CBS SF) -- A hotel in Newark was evacuated Sunday afternoon after a guest apparently used chemicals to commit suicide, police said.
Officers went to the W Suites hotel at 8200 Gateway Boulevard after an outside police agency reported a possible suicide, according to Newark police.
Responding officers found the deceased victim, as well as several notes warning not to enter the room, police said.
As a precaution, police evacuated the second, third and fourth floors of the hotel to conduct an investigation, police said.
Fire personnel said it was safe to re-enter just after 2 p.m.
Police did not immediately release further information about the victim or the chemicals used.
