Newark Man Killed In Solo Collision With Tree
NEWARK (CBS SF) -- Newark police were investigating a solo vehicle crash that killed a 51-year-old man Friday night.
The crash was reported around 9:45 p.m. after a 1995 Jeep sport utility vehicle collided head on with a tree near the intersection of Newark Boulevard and Dairy Avenue, according to police.
Alameda County firefighters were able to extricate the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 51-year-old man, but he died of his injuries at the hospital a short time later.
The collision is under investigation. The victim's identity has not been released, pending notification of next of kin, police said Saturday afternoon.
