Newark ATM Robbery Suspect Sought
NEWARK (CBS SF) -- Police are looking for a man who robbed a person at a Newark Bank of America ATM machine on Sunday morning.
Officers responded to a report of a robbery at a Bank of America at 36900 Newark Blvd. around 9 a.m., police said.
The male victim told officers that the suspect approached him with a handgun and demanded him to give the money he was going to take out of the ATM machine, according to police.
The victim gave $100 and the man demanded him to withdraw more money from the account, police said.
The suspect then took the victim's ATM card, forced him to withdraw additional money from the account and fled with the cash toward Newark Boulevard, according to police.
The suspect is described as a black man in his mid-20s last seen wearing all black clothing. Anyone with information on this case is asked to call Newark police at (510) 578-4237 or anonymously at (510) 578-4000, ext. 500.
