Neighbor Attacked With Machete Over Noise Complaint In Santa Clara
SANTA CLARA (CBS SF) -- A Santa Clara man has been arrested for assaulting a neighbor with a machete-like knife over a noise complaint on Saturday night.
Police said 54-year-old Jose Francisco Leon was armed with a large, fixed-blade, machete-like knife when he entered a neighboring residence uninvited, complaining about noise disturbance, Lt. Matt Hogan said.
Police said Leon assaulted a 27-year-old man in the 2700 block of Columbus Place around 8 p.m.
Hogan said Leon followed the victim into the victim's home and attacked him with a large knife. The victim was able to fend off the suspect without suffering any injuries.
Responding officers detained Leon as he struggled with the victim, police said.
Officers arrested Leon on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, burglary, false imprisonment, and resisting police officers, Hogan said.
