NBA Reportedly Loses $40,000 Worth Of Gear After Car Break-In At Oakland Mall
OAKLAND (CBS SF) - Oakland police say a crew working for NBA Entertainment lost $40,000 in equipment and personal items after thieves broke into their car before NBA Finals Game 1 Tuesday.
The Oakland Tribune reports that three NBAE crew members went to eat at the Panda Express off of Hegenberger Road around 2 p.m. and returned shortly before 2:30 to find that five laptops and $25,000 worth of camera equipment and cell phones were gone.
Oakland police told the newspaper that they would increase patrols at the strip mall while tourists were in town for the finals, which are being played just across I-880 at Oracle Arena.
