NASCAR Race Expected To Congest Wine Country Roadways
SONOMA COUNTY (CBS SF) -- If you're planning a trip to wine country this weekend, be warned. NASCAR rolls into town Friday, along with tens of thousands of fans and huge traffic jams.
The California Highway Patrol and the Sonoma Raceway are trying to get people to use alternate routes until the race wraps up on Sunday.

Most of the roads leading to the track are two lane, likely to cause congestion that can last for hours.
NASCAR introduced a new qualifying procedure for 2014 and the Sonoma Raceway will mark the first time it will be used on a a road course.
Several drivers are from Northern California, including five-time Sonoma winner Jeff Gordon, AJ Allmendinger and Kyle Larson.
