Narsai David Wine Review: Three Wines Perfect For Summer
BERKELEY (KCBS) - Here are three delicious wines for the summertime from the Russian River Valley and the Dry Creek Valley.
The 2012 Pluto's Fury pinot noir from Geyser Peak Winery is a light-bodied wine with the delicate aroma of a berry bramble. It has just enough tannin for backbone, but it's soft enough to enjoy now. With fresh wild King salmon is on the market, this would be a perfect match-up. And $28 is a very appealing price for a pinot from this region.

The 2013 Dutton Goldfield pinot blanc, again from the Russian River Valley, has a distinct mineral feel with a backbone of citrus that follows directly onto the palate. Bright flavors on the palate alternate with the mineral crispness. Here's a perfect summer wine, especially to accompany any seafood entrée. This wine is beautifully balanced on the palate with long lingering flavors and a soft finish, and priced at $25.
Finally, the 2013 Dry Creek Vineyards sauvignon blanc from Dry Creek Valley is also perfect for summertime. wine—lovely bright melon aromas with a spicy and herbal lemony note which follows right onto the palate. It has a rich mouth feel with a fine balance. This would easily complement seafood or poultry dishes, but it is equally suited to drink on a warm day as an aperitif. How about adding splash of seltzer and an ice cube for a delicious spritzer? It's a fine price at $18.
