Narsai David Wine Review: Michael Pozzan Wines
(KCBS) - KCBS Food and Wine Editor Narsai David reviews a 2009 Chardonnay and a 2009 Pinot Noir from the Russian River Valley.
The 2009 Russian River Valley Chardonnay has a very pale straw color. Fine fruit with just a hint of oak. The fruit rolls over the palate. A very nice acidity balances the wine. Now here's a chardonnay that tastes like a chardonnay. A definite wine that's easy to drink alone or with food. A nice price at $14.99, but on the Bevmo nickel sale, the second bottle is a nickel, so that's $7.50 for a Russian River Valley Chardonnay.
The 2009 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir has a medium crimson color with a soft, almost delicate aroma. The classic fresh strawberries with just a touch of a toasty oak. On the palate, a real easy wine to drink. The balance of all the flavors, fruit, acid, tannins is lovely. A year or two of age will develop complexity. Regular retail $19.99, but also available on the Bevmo sale at half price. $10.00 for a Russian River Valley Pinot Noir.
