Narsai David: Alzheimer's Prevention Cookbook
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- The Alzheimer's Prevention Cookbook: Recipes to Boost Brain Health, written by Dr. Marwan Sabbagh and Beau MacMillan is fascinating from the get-go even judging from the chapter headings in the table of contents.
Chef Sabbagh is a geriatric neurologist, dementia specialist and he's the research medical director of the Banner Sun Health Research Institute in Arizona, one of the world's most prominent Alzheimer's disease research institutions.
It breaks down the basics from: what is Alzheimer's and goes into the science behind it and then relates it to food versus supplements and how vitamin B interacts with your brain.
It even goes into preventing cell damage with antioxidants and the benefits of a Mediterranean diet. Then of course there are the recipes (after all this is a cookbook).

This book has inspired me to keep fresh turmeric in my freezer as I've incorporated it into a lot of my recipes including stir fry and sauces. I've also taken to the idea of sprinkling a little bit of cinnamon on my cereals in the morning.
There is plenty of interesting research going on giving way to some great new ideas provided in this book published by Ten Speed Press.
