Napa police said they are searching for a woman who disappeared with her child during an unsupervised visit on Wednesday.
She was identified as 26-year-old Antonia Rafael-Valasquez. The child was identified as 1-year-old Saul Martinez Rafael.
Police said the child has been in the custody of Child Welfare Services since the summer of 2024. According to police, the child was dropped off at Rafael-Valasquez's home at 1 p.m. for the unsupervised visit.
When CWS workers went back to the home at 4 p.m., both she and the child were gone. Police said her closet appeared to have been cleaned out.
She and her 1-year-old were entered into the national database for missing persons. Police said they are investigating all possibilities, including if it's a possible parental abduction.
