Napa Man Accused Of Stabbing Mother Of His Child, 3 Others
NAPA (CBS SF) -- A Napa man was arrested for attempted murder on Sunday after he allegedly stabbed the mother of his child and three of her friends and family members, a police sergeant said.
The attacks occurred around 11:15 p.m. when Ignacio Sanchez, 23, returned his child to the child's mother at a home in the 1300 block of Pueblo Avenue, Napa police Sgt. Patrick Manzer said.
An argument began that turned physical, and Sanchez allegedly assaulted the child's mother, Manzer said. Several of her friends and family members were stabbed when they intervened.
One victim, a 19-year-old Napa resident, suffered serious injuries and was taken by helicopter to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, Manzer said.
The child's mother, along with a 22-year-old man and an 18-year-old man, were admitted to the Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa.
The 22-year-old man was admitted to the intensive care unit, but none of the victims' injuries are considered life-threatening, Manzer said.
Sanchez was also treated for injuries he suffered during the incident, and was then booked into Napa County Jail for attempted murder, inflicting corporal injury on the mother of his child and possession of an assault weapon, Manzer said.
Police recovered the illegal assault weapon when they searched a home in the 2200 block of Clay Street in Napa, Manzer said.
Police are asking witnesses to the incident to call (707) 257-9223.
