Napa Man Accused Of Choking Paraplegic Father In Family Argument
NAPA (CBS SF) – A Napa man in a fight with his brother allegedly assaulted his paraplegic father who tried to break up the fight Wednesday afternoon, a police captain said.
Daniel Romero Pena, 24, pushed his brother during an argument around 1:50 p.m. at a residence in the 1500 block of Parkwood Street, Napa police Capt. Jeff Troendly said.
Pena grabbed his 58-year-old father's throat and squeezed it for several seconds, causing redness to his father's neck, Troendly said.
Pena fled but returned to the residence around 4 p.m. Officers responded when Pena's mother called police and arrested Pena without incident, Troendly said.
The Napa Fire Department evaluated Pena's father's injuries and the elder Pena said he would seek his own medical attention, according to Troendly.
Daniel Pena was booked into Napa County Jail on suspicion of abuse of an elder or dependent adult and for outstanding warrants for DUI, Troendly said.
