Oakville Cross Road Bridge Closed Due To Magnitude 4.1 Napa Quake
NAPA COUNTY (CBS SF) – A bridge in Napa County was closed Friday due to damage caused by the 4.1 magnitude earthquake felt in the area Thursday night, according to county officials.
The Oakville Cross Road Bridge, which crosses over the Napa River between state Highway 29 and Silverado Trail, was closed after an inspection by the California Department of Transportation, Napa County Public Works officials said Friday.
Drivers can continue to use Silverado Trail and state Highway 29 on either side of the bridge but those wishing the cross the valley in that area will need to use Yountville Cross Road or Rutherford Road, state Highway 128, officials said.
Thursday's earthquake was reported at 7:53 p.m. and was centered about 6 miles east-northeast of Yountville and 9 miles north of Napa, at a depth of 5.5 miles.
The bridge was scheduled to be replaced this summer, and will remain closed until further notice.
