Mountain View's NASA Ames Spared From Obama Budget Cuts
MOUNTAIN VIEW (KCBS)—NASA Ames Research Center in Mountain View has been spared from President Barack Obama's proposed budget cuts. The president's proposal calls for $733 million for NASA Ames in 2014, $22 million more than in fiscal 2013.
"In short, the president's proposed fiscal year 2014 budget is good news for Ames, good news for NASA and it's good news for the country," said NASA Ames Research Center Director Pete Worden.
He added that the funding will support NASA's new mission. "We intend to identify, capture and relocate an asteroid. I can't think of anything more exciting," Worden said.

NASA Ames will support that mission through aeronautics, which will also influence commercial aviation safety and the development of a new air traffic control system, space technology, human exploration, and robotics education.
