Mountain View Police Get Tough On Speeding After Pedestrian Deaths
MOUNTAIN VIEW (KCBS) - Mountain View police have cracked down on speeding along California Avenue after public outcry over two recent crashes that killed pedestrians.
Many residents and people who work in the area have welcomed the increased enforcement on a thoroughfare where they say speeding and turning against traffic signals has become all too common.
Some residents would even like to see California narrowed by adding a bike lane. Community meeting scheduled for Oct. 15 to discuss traffic issues there.

Pedestrian safety was brought into the forefront because of two fatal crashes in other parts of town this spring.
A man was killed at a Valley Transportation Authority bus stop on June 21. Another was killed in April crossing the street where Wright Avenue and North Shoreline Boulevard intersect.
