Mountain Lion Spotted In San Mateo County
EMERALD HILLS (CBS SF) -- A mountain lion was reported in Emerald Hills in unincorporated San Mateo County on Friday morning and county officials urge people not to approach the animals, according to the Office of Emergency Services.
The mountain lion was heard in the backyard of 747 Oakview Way near Hamilton Way about 3 a.m., according to the OES.
The people who called discovered the carcass of a deer the following morning. The SPCA removed it and the incident was reported to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office, according to the OES.
People who see a mountain lion are being told not to approach it, especially one that is feeding or with offspring. One who encounters a mountain lion is to face the animal, make noise, and try to look bigger by waving your arms.
