Mountain Lion Seen In San Anselmo Neighborhood
SAN ANSELMO (BCN) - A mountain lion was allegedly spotted Saturday evening on a neighborhood road in San Anselmo, according to police.
Police responded to reports at about 10 p.m. that a resident had seen a lion on Raymond Avenue and that it had made its way toward Laurel Avenue, San Anselmo police said.
Officers were unsuccessful at finding the lion, but went door to door and asked residents about a sighting. They also notified the state Department of Fish and Game and the Marin County Humane Society about a potential sighting.
Feeding deer is illegal and will attract mountain lions, police said in a statement.
They also advise keeping pet food inside, and not allowing pets outside when mountain lions are most active, which is at dawn, dusk, and at night.
