SANTA ROSA (CBS / BCN) -- The Sonoma County coroner's office said a 19-year-old motorcyclist was killed Monday when he crashed into the back of a van in heavy traffic in Santa Rosa.
Windsor resident Eric Wiggins was driving south on U.S. Highway 101 when his 2003 Kawasaki ran into the back of a van near Hopper Avenue about 8:50 a.m.

Wiggins, who was directly behind the van, was unable to stop and crashed into it at about 50 mph, Sloat said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A portion of the highway was shut down for more than an hour while authorities investigated the crash
