Motorcyclist Dies In Fall Off Cliff Near Milpitas
MILPITAS (CBS/BCN) -- A motorcyclist died in a fall off a cliff in unincorporated Santa Clara County near Milpitas Saturday afternoon, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
The crash was reported at about 12:30 p.m. on Calaveras Road near Felter Road, CHP Officer Eric Anderson said.
For an unknown reason, the motorcyclist went off the roadway and died after a 30-foot fall down a roadside cliff, Anderson said.
There were no other vehicles involved in the crash, he said.
Calaveras Road was closed in both directions in the area as of 1:45 p.m. due to the crash, and there was no estimate for when the road would reopen, Anderson said.
