Mother Walking With Kids Robbed At Gunpoint Near San Mateo School
SAN MATEO (CBS SF) - Police are searching for a suspect who robbed a mother and her two children at gunpoint outside a school in San Mateo on Wednesday morning, police said.
The 36-year-old woman was walking with her 13-year-old daughter and 6-year-old son in the 700 block of Indian Avenue, near North Humboldt Avenue, at about 11:50 a.m. when an armed male confronted her and demanded her property, according to police.
The suspect took the property and fled on foot, heading south on North Humboldt Street, police said.
The robbery occurred near College Park Elementary School. Police searched the area but did not find the suspect.
He was described as a white or light-skinned Latino male in his late teens to early 20s, about 6 feet tall, with a stocky build. He appeared to be armed with a handgun, police said.
