More Volunteers Recruited To Search For Missing Hayward Nursing Student
HAYWARD (KCBS) - The family of missing nursing student Michelle Le started recruiting volunteers Wednesday for new searches planned later in the week.
Le was last seen leaving the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Hayward on May 27. Police have classified the 26-year-old's disappearance as a homicide, even as the friends and relatives continue to look for her clues to her whereabouts.
KCBS' Chris Filippi Reports:
"I don't think the family could ever live with ourselves if we didn't do everything we could," said Le's brother Michael.
He said the Klaas Kids Foundation will help with upcoming searches in the East Bay on Friday and Saturday.
A small group of relatives and other volunteers distributed flyers about Le's disappearance in Hayward and Fremont on Wednesday.
"We have to do what we can and that's try to keep her face out there and try to let more people know that she's still missing and she needs our help to find her," Michael Le said.
Hayward police said their investigators have been working with the FBI and the Alameda County Sheriff's Office and have made considerable headway in the case.
No suspect has been arrested.
