More Than 40 Displaced in SF Fire
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) _ More than 40 people were displaced following a three-alarm fire Saturday in San Francisco's Mission District.
San Francisco Deputy Fire Captain Pat Gardner said the fire did major damage to a single family home on Rondel Place shortly after 6 p.m., before spreading to a three-story apartment building on Mission Street, between 16th and 17th streets.
Gardner said two firefighters suffered minor injuries fighting the blaze.
"We think one had exhaustion and the second had lacerations. They were both transported to the hospital," he said. "Minor injuries and they're both okay."
There were no other injuries reported.
Gardner said there is no word yet on what may have sparked the blaze. The arson unit is investigating the fire, but Gardner said that does not necessarily mean arson is suspected.
More than a hundred firefighters responded to the scene. The Red Cross was called in to help those displaced by the fire.
