More Than 100 Ejected During 49ers' NFC Championship Game
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- The number of arrests made during the 49ers' NFC Championship game at Candlestick Park Sunday was higher than the previous week's game, and the number of ejections nearly doubled, San Francisco police said.
Around 110 people were ejected from the stadium during the 49ers' 20-17 loss against the New York Giants, up from 57 during last week's game against the New Orleans Saints.
Police attribute the increase to alcohol consumption, a zero tolerance approach by police and 49ers security, the educational campaign directed at fans to report unruly behavior and the late start of the game—3:30 p.m. this week as opposed to 1 p.m. last week.

Police said 29 people were arrested during the game, which was up from 24 the previous week.
Most of the arrests were alcohol-related, police said, and 13 of the arrests occurred inside the stadium.
One man was arrested inside the stadium on suspicion of threatening an officer, police said. The suspect had his two-year-old son with him and was also cited for child endangerment.
Another person was arrested for allegedly assaulting two police officers. One of the officers used pepper spray on the suspect, who was then taken into custody, police said.
The pepper spray also affected another police officer and an uninvolved female fan. Paramedics treated both and the fan returned to watch the game, police said.
