Moraga Man Arrested For Domestic Abuse, Fighting Officer
MORAGA (CBS SF) -- A Moraga man has been charged with two felonies and a misdemeanor for allegedly assaulting his spouse earlier this week and then fighting and attempting to disarm a police officer responding to the reported abuse, Moraga police said.
Joseph Rudolph Sienkiewicz, 65, was arrested at his Moraga home Monday after police responded to a report of domestic violence there, police said.
Police said that after taking the suspect to the Moraga police department, Sienkiewicz tried to snatch an officer's gun and fought the officer.
The officer subdued the 65-year-old and booked him into the Martinez Detention Facility after he was treated for undisclosed injuries he suffered during his altercation with the officer, police said.
Contra Costa County prosecutors charged Sienkiewicz Wednesday with two felonies for allegedly assaulting officer and one misdemeanor count of corporal punishment on a spouse.
