Money Dispute Triggered Fairfield Double Murder-Suicide
FAIRFIELD (CBS SF) -- A shooting at a home over the weekend that left three people dead, including the gunman, stemmed from a financial dispute between one of the victims and her estranged husband, according to police.
Police identified the shooter as Jason Eisenberg, 27, and the victims as Anthony Chambers, 41, and Brittany Quinn, 27.
Eisenberg lived at a home in the 5200 block of Venue Drive with Chambers, Quinn and a 27-year-old man, according to police spokesman Officer Cleo Mayoral.
Police believe Eisenberg shot Chambers and Quinn, then shot the 27-year-old man in the foot before shooting himself in the head.
Eisenberg and Quinn had a common-law marriage that ended two years ago. The two were also business partners but did not have any children together, Mayoral said.
When their romantic relationship ended, Eisenberg and Quinn engaged in a tense legal battle over finances and real estate assets, Mayoral said.
Quinn moved out of the home, but in December she moved back in. Tensions continued because of the pair's ongoing disagreements about property, assets and living arrangements, according to Mayoral.
Police believe Chambers and the 27-year-old man who survived the shooting were friends of Eisenberg and Quinn and lived in the same house, but were not involved in the dispute.
On Friday, Quinn served Eisenberg with a notice of a civil lawsuit regarding money she believed Eisenberg owed her. On Sunday, Eisenberg killed Quinn and Chambers and shot the 27-year-old man in the foot through a closed, locked bedroom door, said Mayoral. Eisenberg then shot himself in the head.
Quinn and Chambers died at the scene and Eisenberg died at hospital. Police recovered the murder weapon that belonged to Eisenberg, said Mayoral.
Police are continuing the investigation.
