Missing Suisun City Girl Found In Vallejo
SUISUN CITY (CBS SF) -- Suisun police are still investigating whether a 17-year-old Suisun City girl who went missing Wednesday afternoon actually was abducted.
Christina Almanza was found Friday afternoon in a home in the 100 block of Bolton Way in Vallejo. She was in good physical condition and was being interviewed by investigators Friday, police said.
Two people at the home were detained to determine if criminal activity took place and what involvement they might have in Almanza's disappearance.
"Should it be determined that they were involved in criminal activity and are arrested, their identities will be made available to the press," police said in a statement.
"The criminal investigation into this case continues," police said.
The California Highway Patrol issued a statewide Amber Alert for Almanza that said she was driving a 1999 Oldsmobile Silhouette and being held against her will by "multiple male suspects."
That information was based on a message Almanza left on a relative's phone, according to the Solano County Sheriff's Office.
Information from "known associates" of Almanza led police to the Vallejo home, Suisun City police said, and the Oldsmobile minivan was parked at the house.
A female matching Almanza's description and another person came out of the house, looked in the direction of law enforcement officers and went back in the home, police said.
Officers set up a perimeter and entered the house. An aggressive dog was shot while investigators contacted people inside the home and identified Almanza.
The FBI, U.S. Marshal's Service, Solano County District Attorney's Office, California Highway Patrol and Suisun police investigated the incident.
Anyone with information about the case is urged to call Suisun City police at (707) 421-7373.
