Microsoft Lashes Out At Google Over Government Software
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS/AP) -- Microsoft lashed out at Google Monday, extending the hostilities between two of the most prominent corporations in technology.
Microsoft Corp. claimed Google Inc. is misleading customers about the level of scrutiny its suite of software programs for governments has undergone.
Google insisted it's not deceiving anyone in claiming that its "Google Apps for Government" has clearance under a federal law governing information security, since a less robust version with fewer security measures has already received approval.
The latest barbs turn on recently unsealed court documents in Google's lawsuit alleging a government agency rigged the bidding for a multibillion-dollar contract to favor Microsoft.
