Michelle Obama To Visit SF On Monday
SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) -- First Lady Michelle Obama is expected to visit the Bay Area on Monday to raise money for local Democratic candidates, just a few days after her husband's brief trip to the region for the same purpose.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office confirmed Friday that President Obama's wife will be attending a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee fundraiser at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco on Monday evening.
The First Lady and Pelosi will show their support for local Democratic candidates at the reception and dinner at the hotel at 950 Mason St., according to committee officials.
The event is expected to be spread over several rooms in the hotel and run from about 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, according to the committee.
This is Michelle Obama's second trip to the Bay Area since her husband took office. She was previously in the region in June 2009.
President Obama came to the area Thursday for two separate Democratic fundraisers in Atherton and Palo Alto. He left from San Francisco International Airport Friday morning.
