Michele Le's Murder Suspect Doesn't Show In Court
HAYWARD (KCBS) --- The woman accused of killing 26-year-old nursing student Michele Le was supposed to appear in court Monday morning to enter a plea, but she was a no show.
The Hayward court was packed with media and spectators, but murder suspect Giselle Esteban waived her court appearance. A public defender tentatively assigned to the case said it needs to be determined if the public defender's office will take the case.
KCBS' Bob Melrose Reports:
Esteban, who is pregnant, is accused of killing Le, who went missing from a Hayward parking garage in late May and has still not been found.
Police say jealousy is the motive and physical evidence ties Esteban to Le's disappearance.
Esteban's next court appearance is scheduled for Monday.
