Medical Marijuana Grower To Showcase 'Wicked Wicking System' For Growing Plants, Produce Amid Calfornia Drought
MARIN COUNTY (CBS SF) -- A medical marijuana entrepreneur is promoting his method of developing thriving cannabis gardens amid California's drought as a way to radically cut water waste.
In a press release cited by East Bay Express, George Bianchini says his 'ultra water-conserving garden' uses a wicking method that dates back to the legendary Hanging Gardens of Babylon.
Bianchini says he combines the technique with modern-day materials and processes to create what he calls his 'Wicked Wicking System,' and claims to cut the amount of water lost to evaporation and runoff by 75 percent.
"This system for growing high-quality marijuana as well as fruits, vegetables, and other herbs uses the exact amount of water that a plant needs, and not a drop more," said Bianchini.
Bianchini, an Oaksterdam University graduate, is the founder of Medi-Cone, which produces and sells pre-rolled marijuana joint, or 'cones.'
Wednesday, Bianchini plans to demonstrate his Medi-Cone garden and water-conserving methods in a media open-house at his private garden in Marin County.
He also reportedly plans to sell pre-made watering system kits to interested growers.
