Mark Zuckerberg Immortalized In Wax At New Madame Tussauds In San Francisco
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - Even before the latest branch of Madame Tussaud's famed wax museum officially opens on San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf, one of tech's biggest names has checked in at the wax statue museum.
Wax likenesses of Mark Zuckerberg, along with Rihanna and Leonardo DiCaprio were shown off at a media preview of the tourist attraction Wednesday.
The Zuckerberg piece is the part of the gallery's nod to local celebrities, both natives and transplants. Museum officials say locals will make up 35 percent of the statues.
The statues are created at the flagship in London before being shipped out to the international showrooms.
"Our team spends about four months creating a figure," said Petra van der Meer, Production Maintenance Manager for Madame Tussauds.
The museum is set to open to the public on June 26th. It will be the fifth U.S. showroom.
