Marin Teen To Stand Trial For Attempted Murder, Stealing Lamborghini
SAN RAFAEL (KCBS) – A Marin County teenage has been ordered to stand trial after being accused of stealing celebrity chef Guy Fieri's Lamborghini and shooting at a teen couple last year.
18-year-old Max Wade is charged with rappelling down a rope and into a San Francisco auto dealership last March, before making off with Fieri's yellow Lamborghini. He is also accused of opening fire on the two teens while they sat inside a pickup truck in April 2011.
Prosecutors said they believe the female inside that truck was a love interest of Wade's. For this incident, he is facing additional charges of attempted murder.
KCBS' Mark Seelig Reports:
The judge in the case ruled on Monday that there is enough evidence in the case to hold Wade for trial. Charles Dresow, Wade's attorney, said Monday's ruling in no way reflects on his client's guilt or innocence.
"All it is is a simple finding that there is sufficient evidence to move the case over to the trial court," Dresow said. "And the standard of evidence in that arena is proof beyond a reasonable doubt."
Wade is due back in court on November 1 for his official arraignment.
