Marin County, San Francisco Mop Up Mess From Weekend Storm
FAIRFAX (KCBS) — While the Bay Area is getting some respite from the heavy rains, work crews in the Marin County and San Francisco are trying to clean up damage caused by this weekend's storm.
Some areas of the North Bay received up to six inches of rain over the last few days. In Fairfax, crews were clearing storm drains on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, where a middle school down the road was flooded.
Classes were not held at White Hill Middle School on Monday after five classrooms sustained water damage. Crews drained the classrooms and hope to reopen the school for classes on Tuesday.

In San Francisco, Mohammed Nuru, the city's public works director, said 40 trees had fallen during the storm—on streets, houses, and cars.
"Around 8 o'clock in the morning on Sunday, we had over 160 requests for service calls that we had to deal with and many of them were all priority," he said.
The combination of heavy rain and wind are causing problems for work crews, Nuru said. With trees shedding their leaves, high winds blow them onto the street and heavy rain carries the leaves to catch basins, clogging them.
