Marin County Mom Arrested Over Drunken Teen Party
SAN RAFAEL (CBS/AP) -- A Marin County mother is under arrest for allegedly hosting a drunken party for her 15-year-old son and his friends.
Marin sheriff's deputies arrested 57-year-old Carolyn Hedrich on suspicion of child endangerment, being under the influence of a controlled substance and violation of probation.
Sheriff's officials said when deputies arrived at Hedrich's San Rafael home on the 200 block of Margarita Drive in unincorporated San Rafael late Friday night they discovered a wild party with 60 teenage guests, including a 14-year-old girl who was so intoxicated that she needed medical treatment.
The homeowner also is accused of violating Marin County's "social host" ordinance, which imposes heavy fines on adults who host teenage drinking parties.
Sheriff's officials say Hedrich was inside the house during the party and was under the influence of drugs and possibly alcohol.
