Marin Authorities Identify Body Of 2nd Hiker To Die On Mount Tam
MILL VALLEY (KCBS) -- A second hiker recently found dead on Mount Tamalpais has been identified as 50-year-old Marie Sanner of Mill Valley, a spokesman for the Marin County Sheriff's Office said Friday.
Sanner's body was discovered 30 feet down a hillside, not far from where searchers the week before had located the body of another woman who recently disappeared on a hike in the area.
Lt. Keith Boyd said the Marin County Sheriff's Office has yet to find any link between the two deaths.
"It's too early to make any kind of speculative comment," he said.

Sanner went out hiking with a friend Wednesday evening, but the two became separated about a mile east of the Pantoll Ranger Station, authorities said.
Sanner's father reported her missing on Thursday, and police found her body that afternoon.
An autopsy on Sanner's body has been scheduled for Monday.
Last week, volunteer searchers working with police uncovered the body of a Menlo Park woman who also disappeared while hiking in the same area. Magdalena had left a note on March 30 saying she was going hiking, but never returned.
Although police have uncovered no signs of foul play, news of the two deaths has been troubling to people who visit Mount Tamalpais.
"I thought it was kind of unusual that people are falling," said Kevin Brinning.
"Especially if they're experienced hikers, it seems like that's pretty strange. And no one was around to witness what happened, so it's pretty frightening."
The unanswered questions make the women's deaths seem more unsettling, said Juanita Davis.
"We really don't know how they fell, or were they pushed, or did they fall on their own, or what really happened," she said.
Glinkowski's autopsy revealed no visible signs of trauma. The Marin County Coroner's Office is awaiting toxicology test results to determine the cause and manner of her death.
