Manhunt For Petaluma Hit-And-Run Suspect
PETALUMA (CBS SF) -- Petaluma police were seeking a man who struck a pedestrian with his vehicle and then drove away from the scene on Thursday night.
The hit-and-run was reported at 8:07 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Petaluma Boulevard North and B Street.
The pedestrian, a 55-year-old woman, was walking in the marked crosswalk when a white BMW or similar SUV was turning left from eastbound B Street and struck her, police said.
The pedestrian suffered major injuries in the collision.
A male driver and female passenger in their 60s spoke briefly to the pedestrian, then drove away from the scene, according to police.
The suspect vehicle had a possible license plate with 5's or S's in it, police said.
