Man Standing At Mountain View Bus Stop Killed By Out-Of-Control Car
MOUNTAIN VIEW (KCBS) - A person was struck and killed by an out-of-control car Thursday at a Valley Transportation Authority bus stop in Mountain View, authorities said.
The victim was hit around 9:30 a.m. on the sidewalk at the corner of California Street and Escuela Avenue, said Mountain View Police Department spokeswoman Jamie Garrett.
Witnesses told the Mountain View Patch the gray Audi A4 appeared to be speeding and went through a red light. Garrett said the crash that also injured the driver, who was transported to a local hospital. She said it was unclear whether the person who was hit had been waiting for the bus or was a pedestrian.

The impact of the crash damaged the bus stop structure, and the vehicle wound up on the lawn of a residence about 100 yards away.
Police have not released any information about the person who was killed or the driver.
