Man Stabbed To Death In San Francisco's Potrero Hill Neighborhood
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A man was fatally stabbed with a sharp object in San Francisco's Potrero Hill neighborhood early Sunday morning, a police spokesman said Monday.
Shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday, the 52-year-old victim and a suspect were seen talking near the intersection of 25th and Connecticut streets, police spokesman Officer Gordon Shyy said.
A witness then reported seeing the suspect swing an object at the victim, causing him to collapse with a laceration to his neck, police said.
The victim, whose name was not immediately released, was taken to San Francisco General Hospital where he was pronounced dead, Shyy said.
The suspect, described as a black man in his 20s who was wearing all-black clothing, had not been arrested as of Monday morning, according to Shyy.
Anyone with information about the homicide was encouraged to call the Police Department's homicide detail at (415) 553-1145, the department's anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or to send a tip by text message to TIP411.
