Man Stabbed In Neck In Downtown Oakland Market
OAKLAND (BCN -- A man was stabbed in the neck in a market in downtown Oakland late Saturday morning, police said.
The stabbing was reported at about 11:10 a.m. at the S&A Market at 600 14th St., according to police.
The victim was taken to a hospital where he underwent surgery around noon, police said. An update on his condition was not immediately available this afternoon.
The stabbing suspect surrendered to police shortly afterward, according to police. His name was not immediately being released.
An employee at Uncle Willy's Original BBQ, a restaurant located nearby, said he saw the victim being taken away in an ambulance and said it looked like he suffered "a pretty bad cut."
The employee said it looked like the victim had also suffered a stab wound to his back or shoulder.
"It was pretty crazy," he said.
