Man Stabbed In Head At Powell Muni Station In San Francisco
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A man who was stabbed in the head at San Francisco Municipal Railway's Powell Street Muni Metro station on Thursday night was uncooperative with police who investigated the case and refused to identify a possible suspect, a police spokesman said Friday.
The stabbing was reported shortly before midnight at the underground station.
The 21-year-old victim transported himself to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for injuries that were not considered life-threatening, police said.
Witnesses had reported the victim fighting with two other people, and responding officers detained a 39-year-old man as a possible suspect in the stabbing, police spokesman Officer Gordon Shyy said.
However, the victim did not cooperate with police and refused to identify the man as his attacker, Shyy said.
The victim appeared to be intoxicated, according to Shyy.
The stabbing remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Police Department's anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411.
