Man Stabbed In Falcons-49ers Post-Game Fan Fight
ATLANTA (CBS SF) -- Tempers flared for two fans outside the Georgia Dome following the San Francisco 49ers NFC title game victory over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.
CBS Sports reported a Falcons fan and a 49ers fan argued verbally after the game and the Atlanta fan punched the San Francisco fan, who pulled out a knife and somehow got cut in the "throat area" during the scuffle.
Georgia Dome spokesman Jason Kirksey confirmed to The Associated Press that an altercation occurred in a parking lot outside the dome at 6:40 p.m. and that a 35-year-old man was taken to Grady Hospital with a stab wound.
Kirksey said the man, whose name was not released, was listed in stable condition at the hospital.
Atlanta police indicated in a statement that they were "investigating the incident" and it was unclear "if anyone involved in the altercation (actually) attended the game."
