Man Stabbed During Late Night Robbery In Union City
UNION CITY (BCN) -- A man was stabbed during a robbery in Union City on Wednesday night, a police lieutenant said Thursday.
Police responded to a report at 11:37 p.m. Wednesday of a robbery at a home in the 3200 block of Santa Rosa Court, Union City police Lt. Kelly Musgrove said. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from multiple stab wounds to his upper torso.
Investigators learned the victim and another man were working on a vehicle in front of the home when they were approached by multiple suspects wearing masks and dark clothing, police said.
During the robbery, one of the men fled into the home to report the robbery and retrieve a shotgun while the other remained outside with the suspects.
The victim came back outside to see his friend on the ground and suffering from stab wounds with the suspects standing over him. He fired the shotgun in the suspects' direction and they fled, police said.
The victim of the stabbing was taken to a local hospital and is expected to survive his injuries, Musgrove said.
He said investigators do not know if any of the suspects were hit by the shotgun blasts.
No arrests have been made in connection with the stabbing as of Thursday afternoon.
