Man Stabbed During Fight Over Vacant San Leandro Restaurant Table
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - A San Francisco man was arrested in San Leandro on Friday after allegedly stabbing another man in a restaurant after arguing with the victim over a vacant table.
Police arrested Nicholas Cordero, 24, shortly after the incident as he was leaving the restaurant. The stabbing happened at Chevys at 15555 E. 14th St., in Bayfair Center.
Police caught up with Cordero by the Century Theaters. He was allegedly identified by witnesses as the suspect.
The victim was having dinner with his grandmother when Cordero and a friend got into an argument with them over a vacant table. The argument escalated into fighting, and Cordero stabbed the victim in the upper-right torso.
Cordero's friend was released, but Cordero remained in custody and is expected to be arraigned Tuesday for attempted murder.
