Man Stabbed At San Francisco 24th St. BART Station; 1 Arrest
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - The 24th Street Bay Area Rapid Transit station in San Francisco's Mission District reopened Friday morning after closing while BART police investigated a stabbing there, a BART spokesman said.
BART police closed the station at 4:43 a.m. Friday after a female suspect allegedly stabbed a male in the station, BART spokesman Jim Allison said.
Trains passed through the station without letting passengers off, and BART customers were not permitted to enter the station until 5:26 a.m. when the station reopened, Allison said.
The suspect is now in police custody, and the victim has been transported to San Francisco General Hospital, Allison said. Allison said he did not know the condition of the victim.
No other stations were affected by the closure, and BART trains otherwise remained on time, Allison said.
